Chess
I used to play online chess till few years ago, but no longer active now. However, I try to follow all tournaments that Vishy plays in. Sites I like to follow live chess games are chessbase.in, chess24.com and chess.com
While I was a faculty member at IIIT Delhi, I was involved in forming “The 65th Square Chess Club” there, along with my former student Sanchit Gupta. I also created the proposal for bonus marks for FIDE rated Chess players as one of the criteria in the admissions to the institute. It was accepted and I am aware that the scheme of bonus marks for Chess in the admissions was continuining till I worked there. I did not keep track of the place since I left in 2017 and have no idea of the current status.
My favorite: Vishy Anand
My favorite games of Anand (a relatively old collection).
Interviews of Anand after he became the unified world champion.
Meeting with Vishy
I could meet and play a simultaneous exhibition game against GM Viswanathan Anand at a function organized at NIIT University in Neemrana in 2012. I resigned on move 23 when Vishy was threatening to queen his pawn (in fact, my position was already hopeless from a few moves earlier). Here are two pictures from that occasion:
